My Final

I am happy to say that I am almost done with my project for App. I have a few things to gather for the smartboard use. But I am not worried and I feel that it will be good to show my fellow educators in Dec.

I think this project is useful for the different word documents is great. I learned a great deal and feel confident to use in the future. Man, I can't wait to have a classroom and really put those tools into practice. It is different for a substitute teacher. I have to use whatever the classroom has in store.

This semester  in observation hours didn't make subbing easy to do.  I didn't like it at all and felt it unnecessary considering I rather sub then observe someone. I did that in my undergrad and didn't think I would have to do it again.

Web Based Tools

Sype- this free so anyone can use it even the teenagers. You can do a lot with this site, video calling, group, text, and file sharing. This would be great in classroom if anyone is out for a long time from school.

Acrobat--is great for business or teachers wanting to share ideas. This is nice because you can share the files and read them from your mobile devices. Who wouldn't want to have that kind of access. You will never leave home with your work. I say that laughing...haha

Tinychat--I don't think I want to be a part of this community at all. I think this is for wannabes who think they know something. When it looks like mostly kids on this site. It could be a dangerous place for teenagers.

Meeting Burner--I don't even want to to register for this at all. But from the readings it seems to look for professional business men and women. Not something I could use in the classroom.

GotToMeeting--this would be great for college students who can't meet directly with a group. I am always so found in group projects. Not really!! I think it could work in those situations that are not planned.

Yugma--another site that is free and similar to rest. I am not sure what one would be better then the others to use. But i think the only way to really know is to use one of the sites. But right now I have no classroom so I can explore what one would be useful.

Webex--you can use it for free or buy for the upgrade. This site is good for trainings and web events you want to introduce to clients and employees.

I can"t say if I like one over the other from these websites. I am sure they all would be useful for the classroom. I always hear about Skype being the most popular one to use. I think it would be great if I could try them out in my own classroom but right now that is not going to happen. That is why I choose to let you know about each of the sites. You taake your pick what site would be benifical for your classroom.

Fabulous Search Engines

Academic Info   I wasn't thrilled with how slowly it goes. I clicked on some of the information that it supplies. Let me say that it redirects you into another website. I didn't understand why, because it doesn't give you information. It just says (error). I wouldn't use this in the classroom.
I did like how it is in alphabetic order. You know what content you want to look at. But honestly it should be updated on it's site.

Eric I have to say this is one of the best sites for academic journals with peer reviews I have found. I can always be sure to find information that is legit and has the reviews I need. I think this is great site.
The only problem I had was when the government was shut down this year.

Google Scholar  I had to use this site before in my undergrad. My professor wanted us to try this out because we had to find information on late writers and we would get more information. She also let use this for writing a paper in my literature class. I like the site and it would be great for ELA teachers in the classroom. Students could do research at home.
