WEB 2.0 Classroom Tools

So I looked into the 100 Best Web 2.0 and found some to be okay and others to be repeated similarities. All in all the wesites seem to be very useful for the clssroom.

My Picks:

VOKI has lesson plans and activites for the students. I liked how students can make very short videos. I could use this in grades 3-12 and have fun with new material.

POLL is another one I liked. I feel this would be fun for elections and math problems to work out. Sometime students don't want to say if their having troubles with certain problems. So if you do a poll you will see where the class stands. Then no one is being called out. You could review the problem for everyone.

PENZU is a private journal writing. Instead of students using a notebook the students get to write on the computer. It can be used outside and the teacher can connect with them on different levels of privacy.

DEVIANART is great for the creativity of projects. Students can either work alone or groups to come up with what a concept looks like to them. It can be used in all subjects and be fun to learn new concepts.

PREZI is a different kind of powerpoint. It has more interactive ways of doing a powerpoint and adds more flare to the ppts. I enjoy and have seen many collge students use this. I think that highschoolers would like to use this also.

Theses are my picks and how I would you these interactivley. I hope I will get the chance to explore these sites with my students one day.

  1. Prezi is one of my favorite Web apps. I once created a lesson that revolved around students exploring three Prezis. They were involved the entire time and the emphasis on technology made for a very successful lesson. With the zooming technology there are many different animations that can be used, allowing each Prezi to be vastly different and remaining engaging to students.
